Now that I have officially renamed my ActiveRain blog to something that more matches my state of being, I can start blogging more in line with the way God made me.
I have 9 windows open on my 30" display, I don't have the time - I mean attention span - to write out lengthy well thought out posts.
For about a week or so, I have been experimenting with a service called tumblr.com and I have found the tumblr style of blogging to be much more natural for me. So I have decided to give that style a go here on my AR blog. My posts will rarely even qualify as a post as they will not likely meet the 50 word limit; good thing I don't blog for points!
If you wanna see what my first weeks experiment looked like on my tumbl blog, check out linkblog.jonwashburn.com.
Oh and check out the conversation about Continuous Partial Attention

Jonathan...
I like it. One of the other "Big Dogs" was telling me about tumblr.
This is the first chance I've had to check it out.
So...You really are that geeky :)

Jonathan...
I'm back. I have to be honest...I have never heard of <Continuous Partial Attention> ...
I was a bit lost reading the article so I googled CPA.
I put the link in here because I am quite sure I am not the only 'boomer' that has not made her/his way to the CPA :)

Hi Jonathan-- Thanks for the heads up on that Continuous Partial Attention conversation. I've been having a lot of real life discussions about partial attention and co-presence recently and I'm glad to see that the topics are getting some additional attention.
Also, I've become a big fan of microblogging since I started using Twitter. I started a Tumblr blog one after I saw Jeff Turner twitter about his, however I'm not really posting much to it right now. Basically, I'm just using it to aggregate a few of the feeds (mostly del.icio.us & twiiter) that I generate.
Hi TLW,
I think CPA is something that was just made up a couple days ago. Scoble mentioned it, and Jim Cronin mentioned it in a conference call today. I definately suffer from it.
And yes, I most truly am that geeky.
I never caught the twitter bug. I think to really get the most benefit from it you need to have friends that twitter, and since I am twitter friendless it didn't really work for me.
That is a smart idea to have it aggregate your feeds. That would be a cool widget to integrate into AR at some point.
LOL.
Is this anything like a pingpong ball inside a beachball bouncing down the sand? Shall we call you Ricochet Rabbit from now on? :) I've been saying for years "I have more ideas than time to follow them".
Liked the "Top Ten Reasons Why Web 2.0 Sucks" article.
AND! Good luck in the marathon. Always wanted to do one..
There you go guys. Have FUN :)
Jonathan. Feel free to delete me. I'm just messing around.
Andy,
Thanks for the link to Stowe's video. Very interesting. "My time is not my own".
Jeff,
I was listening in on the Inman call and I heard you make a reference to it. You reference is what reminded me to make this post! I first saw the reference to it on Scoble's blog eariler this week.
Well...
At least they stopped leaving hot links :)
