Jon, This is great news!! Localism is going to be HUGE. But you know that.
Suggestion for you: It would be nice if I could post some articles ONLY to Localism without them showing upon my AR blog at all. There is a reason for this madness. Now that I have an AR outside blog and of course my own outside blog I want to make my urls specific to a certain type of information. As it stands now everything I post to Localism or my AR outside blog, sellingpoincianaproperties shows up on AR.
I do know we can filter information but my customers don't. I prefer to not have my AR blog cluttered with listings and neighborhood reports and would prefer to direct my consumers over to Localism for this information. As it stands now AR is my industry blog where I write about what I do and where I do it. It's geared towards consumers and my peers. My AR outside blog is being populated with mostly consumer information but not necessarily listings and market reports. I use my own brokerbryant.com for very specific to poinciana posts and market reports. I would like to be able to use Localism for what it is designed to be but don't want all the hyper local stuff on AR. I want to be able to have 4 very unique locations although 3 of them will be with you guys. Make sense?
Ideally this would be my breakdown:
AR: Industry commentaries for my peers and the consumer.
AR outside blog: Consumer commentaries leaning towards foreclosure and short sale info and assistance.
Localism: hyperlocal market reports and neighborhood information
BrokerBryant.com: Commentaries for consumers, market reports and some listings.

I hope the points are double or at least more than the regular posts. It will chase away a lot of the gamers because they don't as rule do local. I mentioned to Rich that if the points were double and then when featured doubled again, a whole lot of people will change the dynamics of the points. That would be good for everyone that participates, don't you think?

William,
I read and ponder over every comment I receive!!! It has just been a very busy week getting ready for the new Localism.
All posts on the new Localism are manually reviewed by a human editor for quality before they can appear on the community/city pages. Having a post accepted onto one of those pages will be a significant motivation for our members to create good content. Once it's launched you will see why...
Chuck,
Accepted posts will be shown chronologically.
Posted by Jonathan Washburn (ActiveRain Corp) over 2 years ago
Wow, Johnathan, I am totally impressed and no worries about the comments, I always did wonder though. Well, now I know and it is all good!

Jonathan - It must feel great to see the finish line in sight! The new concept and design should really re-energize a lot of Rainers to write some solid local content. Really like the human editor element and the level of quality that will bring to the site. What will happen to all of the previous content, photos, and neighborhoods that were mapped?

I'm probably in the minority, but the idea of "accepting" posts to Localism doesn't sound right to me. If a member has gone to the effort of creating local content, they should be able to post that content to their Localism blog.
